OBTAINING YOUR STUDENT VISA - non-EU/overseas students

Overseas students are advised to pre-pay their fees in full several months prior to the commencement of the course. This allows sufficient time for correspondence with the College and for your visa interview.

British High Commissions and Consulates throughout the world will be pleased to assist genuine students wishing to travel to the UK for full-time studies.

Students must firstly obtain an application form for the United Kingdom Entry Clearance from the local British Consulate Immigration Section. Students will require the following documents in order to successfully complete the application form:

  • Valid passport.
  • Two passport photographs.
  • Final letter of acceptance from London College of English for your course, confirming starting date of studies and payment of tuition fees.
  • Payment of tuition fees. Students are strongly advised to prepay tuition fees in full. (Please note that payment of the registration fee alone is not accepted by the British Immigration Authorities).
  • In case of a sponsored student, a letter from the sponsor with his/her name and address, confirming that tuition fees and living expenses will be covered.
  • In case of a non-sponsored student, evidence that the student has sufficient funds to maintain and accommodate him/herself during period of study.
  • Medical certificate (for some countries).

Once you have completed the checklist, submit your visa application form - with visa fee in local currency - to the British High Commission or Embassy, which will arrange a date for an interview. (Please note that you may be asked questions about how your course may benefit your career.)
