| english as a foreign language | travel & tourism ENGLISH AS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE Teaching Our aim is to make language tuition, conducted in a friendly and professional way, enjoyable and effective at the same time. The practised teaching policy of the college is to have small classes and tailored programmes of study. The college ensures that the student to teacher ratio is such as to achieve maximum exam pass rates. Four skills are developed within the classroom: speaking, listening, reading and writing. The curriculum is designed to enhance quickly the students' knowledge of both written and spoken English. The highly qualified and varied background of our lecturers enables us to maintain teaching of a very high standard on all courses. Students are also encouraged to approach teachers with any problems with their studies. Lecturing staff The tutors at the London College of English are all qualified and experienced native speakers, who have graduated from many famous universities and professional institutions in Britain. Our tutors are also known for their friendliness, they interest themselves in the students' progress both inside and outside the classroom and are happy to discuss any language problems that students may experience during their stay in London. Many of our teachers have particular interests or specialisations and in addition to the General English classes, students can often gain some knowledge in history, arts etc Books Each class follows a course book, which is supplemented by other materials from our extensive resources. Students are expected to obtain the course book and any accompanying workbook. These can be purchased in the college at discount price. | |||
